Requirements For Service

Connection-  To turn on existing meter, you will need to provide the following:

  • Valid ID –     Deed If You Own The Property
  • Rental Form If You Rent The Property –     Connection Fee of $100 For Owners, $125 For Renters              –     Current Customers $25 Transfer Fee Plus Any Balance

 

New Meter-  To have a meter set, you will need the following:

  • Valid ID –     Deed If You Own The Property
  • Rental Form If You Rent The Property
  • ¾ Inch – $950 Plus Connection Fee
  • 1 Inch – $1,250 Plus Connection Fee
  • 2 Inch – $3,500 Plus Connection Fee

 

Disconnecting-  If you need to discontinue your service, the account holder must contact our office with account number. Please have the new billing address to update your account so you will receive the final bill.

Customer Responsibilities

*The CUSTOMER shall be responsible for installing and maintaining a pressure regulator valve and a cutoff valve on their line. The meter and related components serving the CUSTOMER’s service shall remain the property of the Crossville Water Board and shall not be used by the customer. Tampering with said meter/attachments may involve service being discontinued without notice. If a request is made to have the service left off at the meter, the CUSTOMER is still responsible to have their cutoff valve in the off position.

* Services provided by Crossville Water Board shall be supplied only to the applicant at the account number in the contract. Customer shall not connect any other dwelling or property to the water service.

*Crossville Water Board shall have the right to restrict, control or discontinue service at any time during emergencies or repairs. Crossville Water Board shall not be liable for failure to furnish service for any reason beyond it’s control or for any loss, injury or damage to persons, plumbing or property resulting from such service discontinuance.

*To protect the overall system from being contaminated CUSTOMER agrees not to allow any cross-connection between Crossville Water Board service and a private well or any connection. If cross-connection takes place, service may be discontinued without notice.

*Failure to receive your bill will not relieve any payment obligation. Any unpaid balance will be subject to disconnection at any time; if not paid 5 days of the due date.

*Crossville Water Board reserves the right to discontinue water service at any time for failure to follow rules and regulations.

*If customer is deceased, the account will be transferred to (live in spouse only) name without charge.

*If customer is deceased and was unmarried, any new tenant including immediate family members must pay a new connection fee and have account in their name. Inheritance of estate does not include Crossville Water Board account connection.

*All new business owners, whether business name remains the same or changes, must pay a connection fee to set up service.

*A connection fee must be paid for multiple accounts. Transfer fees only apply to relocating from one account to another.

*Connection fees are nonrefundable and will not be applied to a final account balance.

*There will be a $10.00 fee plus $10.00 per 1,000 gallons for filling tanks.

*A service fee will be applied to customer’s account if customer does not have a cutoff on their side of the meter and Crossville Water Board is called to cut off the meter for customer repairs. $25.00 m-f 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., $50.00 after hours and weekends. $100 for holidays.

*Bills are mailed out by the 20th of each month.

*Bills are due on the 3rd of each month. 10% late fee will be applied after the 3rd.

*No second notices will be sent out.

*We will disconnect service at anytime after the 8th of each month.

*$50.00 will be added to your bill for reconnection from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Any account paid after 3:30 will be reconnected the next business day.

*First theft of service will be $50.00

*Second theft of service will be $100.00

*Third theft of service will be the amount of a tap fee.

*Fourth theft of service customer will be prosecuted.

*If customer damages meter box lid, box, or meter, customer will replace at cost.

*$30.00 fee for returned checks.
